The Trash got together in the summer of 2000 to play a one-off charity gig, and even then we almost felt we shouldn't touch what was, after all, the only band that mattered. But we were amazed by the number of fifteen to fifty somethings that sorted out their babysitters, dug out their old leather jackets and DMs and pogoed the night away. After a few more one-off gigs, the offers kept coming in and we were hooked!

Maybe we shouldn't have been amazed by the response. With classics like London Calling, Rock The Casbah, Bankrobber, I Fought the Law, Should I Stay or Should I Go and all the seminal punk anthems we¹re much, much more than a punk band. The Clash back catalogue covers ska, reggae and plenty of kick-arse rock n roll. Then Joe Strummer died. More than ever it seemed we shouldn't be doing this. But when Kev Saunders met some of Joe's family and friends at his funeral, they all said it was the right thing to do to keep the spirit of The Clash alive.
